SOFT TREAD ON HARD WATER
|
Floating in viscous space
In a fantasy, a dream I keep
I see a haunting, silent face
Unreal so long as I still sleep.
A soft tread on hard water
Absconds with the thread of hope I held
Awakening as music's daughter
My spirit with the notes to meld
Crescendos soar; I am pulled along
Ribbons of light dance a jig on the moon
Can I still become part of the song
That ends pianissimo, star-made croon
Or shall I instead become part of the night
Gossamer wraith, yes, music's daughter
Bubbles for feet, reflections for sight
Back down on Earth, soft tread on hard water… |
